Genetic aspects of parameiosis by protoplast fusion in Metarhizium anisopliae (Metsch.) Sorokin
Abstract in English
Aiming to study parameiosis in Metarhizium anisopriae, mutants of the strains E6 , E9 and RJ, with two auxotrophic marks and a morphological one, were crossed by protoplast fusion. Through the genetical analysis of the fusion products it was detected auxotrophic mutants, evidencing mitotic recombination and the diploid was not recovered. This fact shows the high instability of the diploid phase and confirms the occurrence of parameiosis in this species. Some supposed to be aneuploids were isolated ant it might, be possible they were originated by cromossomic disarrengements during haploidization. A protoplasting method from conidia was described as well. It might be used in future genetic transformation experiments since this kind of protoplasts suit better the process
