Water consumption of yellow passion fruit (Passiflora edulis Sins var flavicarpa Deg)
Abstract in English
The goal of this work was to estimate the culture evapotranspiration (ETc) of the yellow passion fruit in drainage lisymeters and the crop coefficient (Kc) during the development phase. The experiment was carried out at the Fazenda Areão – ESALQ/USP in Piracicaba, São Paulo state. For drainage lisymeters were installed in the, center of a 0.4 ha area for ETc determination. ETc and the reference evapotranspiration (ETo) estimated by the Penmam-Monteith utilized to find the Kc values. Lower values of ETc (0.39 a 0.79 mm day-1) were verified in the period among 32 and 76 day after planting (DAT) probably due to the occurrence of low temperatures and solar radiation. Starting in 77 DAT, the culture evapotranspiraton (ETc) increased and the maximum value was 4.68 mm day-1 in the period among 182 and 196 DAT, beginning of flowering and fruit emergence. The ETc of the passion fruit increased with the emission of leaves and growth of the leaf area. The medium Kc values ranged 0.38 and 1.10 from periods 05/21 through 06/04 and 11/02 through 11/16, respectively, and variation had the same ETc.
