Abstract in English
This research was carried out in order to survey and identify the species of Coccinellidae occurring on fruit crops, in the region of Jundiaí, State of São Paulo, Brazil. The following fruit crops were sampled: grape, peach, chesnut, apple, pear, quince, macadamia, loquat, Japanese persimmon and guava. Eggs, larvae, pupae, and adults of lady birds, as well as specimens of their probable preys, such as aphids, scales and mealybugs, were collected from March 1990 to February 1991. From the 36 Coccinellidae collected, only Cycloneda sanguinea and Scymnus (Pullus) sp. showed to be the frequent and constant ones. These two species also presented significant affinity and high association with Aphis citricola on apple and pear crops.
