A Tuberculose (TB) é uma doença infecto-contagiosa e grave problema de saúde pública no Brasil e no mundo, acompanha o homem desde os primórdios de sua história. No Brasil a TB é a causa primária da morte de mais de sete mil pessoas por ano. A estratégia Tratamento Diretamente Observado, de Curta Duração (DOTS) é uma recomendação da Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) para o controle da TB. Apesar da aplicação do DOTS, a TB persiste e é necessário melhorar as atividades de controle. Este projeto de mestrado apresenta os resultados da plataforma "Tratamento Diretamente Observado via Web (WebDOT)"desenvolvida de maneira sociotécnica para o suporte ao paciente e acompanhamento da tomada de medicação na TB na estratégia DOTS.

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease and a serious public health problem worldwide. In Brazil, TB is the primary cause of death of more than seven thousand people a year. The Directly Observed Treatment - Short Course (DOTS) strategy is a World Health Organization (WHO) recommendation for TB control. Despite the application of DOTS, a TB persists and its control solutions need to be improved. This master's project presents the results of the "Video Directly Observed Web Treatment (WebDOT)"platform developed in a socio-technical manner for patient support and medication monitoring in the DOTS strategy.
