Abstract in English
The Yagra complex (sensu Miller, 1986) is formed by the genera Yagra Oiticica, 1955; Athis Hübner, 1819; Hista Oiticica, 1955, and Imara Houlbert, 1918, all with neotropical distribution. This work proposes, through the analysis of morphological characters, a review of the phylogenetic relationships within Yagra complex and between it and the others genera of the tribe Castniini (sensu Miller, 1995); a taxonomic review of the genera Yagra Oiticica, Hista Oiticica and Imara Houlbert and a review of the validity of the subspecies in the genus Hista Oiticica. The comparative morphological study allowed to test by cladistic method the monophyly and relationship of the genera of Yagra complex, which was proposed by Miller (1986), but still has weak phylogenetic support. As a result of this study, were obtained seven more parsimonious trees, with 232 steps of length, plus another tree resulting from sucessive weight. The topologies differ from those obtained by Miller (1986). The taxonomic study of the genera corroborated the rearrangement of the genera Hista and Yagra as proposed in the last two catalogs of neotropical Castniidae (Miller, 1995; Lamas, 1995). The genus Imara had its rearrangement changed by the inclusion of Imara therapon (Kollar, 1839) new combination.
