Esta pesquisa tem como objeto o jornal A voz da infância, publicação dos frequentadores da Biblioteca Infantil Municipal, fundada pelo Departamento de Cultura da Municipalidade, durante a gestão de Mário de Andrade. Parte de uma política pública de cultura idealizada pelo escritor, os jornais constituem importante documento produzidos pelas crianças. Centrado no período em que Mário de Andrade esteve na chefia do Departamento de Cultura, os exemplares pesquisados compreendem os anos de 1936 a 1938 no qual se procurou examinar o diálogo entre a política pública para criança, o processo de urbanização da cidade de São Paulo e os textos do jornal, composto, escrito e ilustrado pelas crianças frequentadoras da biblioteca. O foco deste trabalho é analisar o quanto a política pública de cultura para crianças interferiu nos textos do A voz da infância e como os projetos concebidos por Mário de Andrade foram importantes na garantia do direito à literatura às crianças em idade escolar, de 6 a 12 anos.

This work focuses on the newspaper A voz da infância, produced by the children who attended the Municipal Childrens Library, founded by the Department of Culture of the Municipality, during the management of Mário de Andrade. Part of a public policy of culture idealized by the writer, this newspaper constitutes an important document produced by children. The research comprises the years from 1936 to 1938, when Mário de Andrade was in charge of the Department of Culture, in which it was sought to examine the dialogue between public policy for children and the texts of the newspaper A voz da infância - composed, written and illustrated by children. The objective is to analyze how the public policy of culture for children interfered in the texts of A voz da infância (The voice of childhood) and how the projects conceived by Mário de Andrade were important in guaranteeing to children from 6 to 12 years old the right to literature.
