A presente dissertação tem como objetivo analisar a biojoia, a partir de sua inserção nos campos da arte e do design no âmbito da produção da joalheria contemporânea, além de investigar o seu papel na problemática da sustentabilidade. A biojoia enquanto problemática situa-se no campo de investigação das relações atuais entre design e arte contemporânea, tanto em seus aspectos conceituais, quanto formais e produtivos. Em vista disso, a identidade da biojoia situada no espaço de interação entre a arte contemporânea e o design configura o ponto de partida desta pesquisa. Como objetivos secundários são propostos estudos sobre as repercussões decorrentes da definição da biojoia como artefato e seu impacto e influência em sua condição de possível produto sustentável, o que envolve aspectos e características ligadas ao design e também à arte. No âmbito da discussão teórica, são apresentadas interações e oposições entre os conceitos de moderno e pós-moderno, com o objetivo de inserir a questão da evolução do Design em suas conexões com a arte e a arquitetura e fornecendo uma contextualização da biojoia como produto de design. O arcabouço teórico da pesquisa tem como eixo as discussões sobre a estética relacional, com a discussão de alguns aspectos da arte relacional ligados à escultura e à biojoia. A biojoia também é analisada como uma instalação em escala reduzida para o próprio corpo, e finalmente, a trajetória e as experiências pessoais da autora serão apresentadas para a investigação de aspectos relacionados à produção e execução das biojoias, assim como sua materialidade. Finalmente é apresentado um estudo de caso sobre a produção de biojoias, com a função de discutir e apreender a identidade da biojoia no espaço de interação entre a arte contemporânea e o design

This dissertation aims to analyze bio-jewelry, starting from its insertion in the fields of art and design within the scope of contemporary jewelry production, in addition to investigating itsrole in the sustainability issue. Bio-jewelry as a theme is located in the field of investigation of the current relations between design and contemporary art, both in its conceptual as well as formal and productive aspects. As a result, the identity of biojoia located in the space of interaction between contemporary art and design sets the starting point of this research. As secondary objectives, this paper propose studies on the repercussions resulting from the definition of biojewelry as an artifact and its impact and influence on its condition as a possible sustainable product, which involves aspects and characteristics linked to design and to art. Within the scope of the theoretical discussion, interactions and oppositions between the concepts of modern and postmodern are specified, with the objective of inserting the question of the evolution of Design in its connections with art and architecture and providing a contextualization of bio-jewelry as a design product. The theoretical framework of the research is based on the discussions on relational aesthetics, with the discussion of some aspects of relational art linked to sculpture and bio-jewelry. Bio-jewelry is also analyzed as a small-scale installation for the body itself, and finally, the author's personal trajectory and experiences will be presented to investigate aspects related to the production and execution of bio jewelry, as well as its materiality. Finally, a case study on the production of biological jewelry is presented, with the function of discussing and apprehending the identity of biological jewelry in the space of interaction between contemporary art and design
