Abstract in English
This dissertation aims to analyze the main textile solutions for architectural membranes available, such as PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) coated fiberglass membranes and PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) coated polyester membranes, in addition to presenting techniques and elements involving this type of construction, the main types of tensioned structures present in architecture and civil construction, their characteristics and construction techniques, as well as the elements that compose them. Therefore, the work was carried out through a bibliographic review of the main authors in the area, both Brazilian and international authors, in order to support a subsequent analysis of works built with these constructive methods, through national and international constructions, identifying their elements, materials and techniques used, considering the constructive characteristics and the results obtained in each of the architectural projects analyzed, concluding through these analyzes that the constructive method in question can be very economically efficient if applied in the right circumstances, bringing energy and comfort benefits to construction, but which still encounters some obstacles to its popularization in Brazil, such as the lack of specific norms and qualified labor.
