Esta tese tem como principal objetivo compreender como as práticas de esporte e de lazer podem funcionar como elementos de integração e inclusão social para refugiados na sociedade brasileira, especialmente para o estado de São Paulo no decorrer do século atual. Para entender a Copa dos Refugiados e Imigrantes compreendemos sua história, sua evolução e seus sujeitos. O torneio de futebol amador é organizado e disputado pelos migrantes e refugiados desde o ano de 2014, sendo o principal objeto de pesquisa. Realizado pela primeira vez na capital paulista de forma despretensiosa como um passatempo, o torneio cresceu e tornou-se um evento nacional, além de preservar o caráter amador da modalidade e realizando partidas em diferentes estados do país. O pesquisador ouviu dez indivíduos por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas, que foram analisadas através do método do Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo. Estes sujeitos foram questionados sobre motivos da solicitação de refúgio ou migração ao Brasil, as dificuldades de adaptação no país, as percepções sobre como a sociedade brasileira vê a questão do acolhimento a refugiados, a importância da Copa dos Refugiados e Imigrantes no processo de adaptação no Brasil e saber se estes indivíduos consideram que práticas de esporte e lazer podem ajudar migrantes e refugiados em seus processos de integração na sociedade brasileira. Concluiu-se que a Copa dos Refugiados e Imigrantes propicia ações culturais e educacionais, fortalece as redes sociais entre a comunidade migrante e refugiada, colabora para que a causa do refúgio se torne mais difundida e reforça as identidades migrantes destes deslocados forçados internacionais.

This thesis main objective is to understand how sports and leisure practices can function as elements of integration and social inclusion for refugees in Brazilian society, especially in the state of São Paulo during the current century. To understand the Refugees and Immigrants Football Cup, we understand its history, its evolution and its subjects. The amateur football tournament has been organized and played by migrants and refugees since 2014, being the main object of research. Held for the first time in the capital of São Paulo in an unpretentious way as a pastime, the tournament grew and became a national event, in addition to preserving the amateur nature of the sport and holding matches in different states of the country. The researcher listened to ten individuals through semi-structured interviews that were analyzed using the Collective Subject Discourse. These subjects were asked about the reasons for requesting refuge or migration to Brazil, the difficulties of adapting in the country, perceptions about how Brazilian society views the issue of welcoming refugees, the importance of the Refugees and Immigrants Football Cup in the process of adaptation in the Brazil and find out whether individuals consider that sports and leisure practices can help migrants and refugees in their integration processes into Brazilian society. It was concluded that the Refugee and Immigrant Football Cup provides cultural and educational actions, strengthens social networks between the migrant and refugee community, helps the cause of refuge become more widespread and reinforces the migrant identities of these internationally forced displaced people.
