Memory of romantic relationships: oral stories of women in São Paulo

Romantic relationships
Abstract in English
Love relationships can occur in many ways and they are not fixed. The love behaviors can change historically, from generation to generation, from class to class, from religion to religion and so on and they can follow the complexity of your own culture and identities. Whereas loving and sexual experiences, as well as all human experience, are products of a complex set of social, cultural and historical contexts, this dissertation has analyzed memories of romantic relationships of women aged between sixty and seventy-five, living in the Southeast area of the city of São Paulo. Using oral history as a methodology, we sought to analyze the different ways romantic relationships reports are built, considering the personal history, social and economic factors. This work consideres also other inherent issues of the lives and the stories of the interviewees, such as the process of changing the role of women in society in the last fifty years and the female aging process
