Abstract in English
This study attempted to show the influence of chemical products added to five varieties of mulberry (Morus alba L.) leavel in silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) feeding. In the first research, three pure strains of the insect (Guinryn, Ouro Verde and Zenko) and three mulberry varieties (Calabresa, Formosa and Hungaresa) were studied. K2 HP04 at 0,5% dosages in aqueous solution was added to their feed leaves. Eighteen treatments with three replications were scheduled in factorial scheme. Different behaviors of the mulberry varieties were observed as well as in the silkworm strains. As far K 2 HP04 effect is concerned, just a differentiation tendency was noted. In the second experiment a hybrid strain (N533 x C544) of silkworm was used in a similar scheme: nine treatments with three replications, choline chloride being applied, at 0,5 and 1% dosages, to leaves of three mulberry varieties (Calabresa, Miura and natural hibrid 64). Choline chloride caused significant differences between the dosages, and similar results were noted among mulberry varieties. Such effects were observed in terms of silkworm weights (4º and 5º instars) as well as in the corresponding cocoons. All the mulberry varieties had their nutritional efficiency improved, according to the increased dosages of choline chloride. The variety which showed the highest improvement in efficiency was natural hybrid 64. In neither dosages did choline chloride influence wilk quality, but it did influence silk amount, positively.
