Growth curves: analysis of incomplete longitudinal data with autocorrelated errors
Abstract in English
The aim of this work is to study incomplete longitudinal data using growth curve models. Under the assumption of a first-order autoregressive process for the errors covariance matrices, each one relative to a set of individuals showing the same pattern of missing data, are obtained. Maximum likelihood estimators for the parameters of a proposed polynomial model, for the innovation variance and the one-lag correlation coefficient, are obtained. Test of hypothesis are performed using Wald’statistic. One application is shown with part of data from SOUZA (1989), relative to the growth curve for length of lowbirth-weight children born at the “Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto da Universidade de São Paulo”
