Keywords in Portuguese
DIFUSIDADE TÉRMICA
TEMPERATURA DO SOLO
Abstract in English
The relationships between air and soil temperatures as well as seasonal variations of termal diffusivity, damping depth, and extinction depth layer of the temperature wave, for a Latossolo roxo in the region of Campinas-SP were studied. In generial the mean daily temperature of the soil could well be estimated by three observation taken, respectively, at 7, 14, and 21 local hours. Linear regression analysis showed that therie exists a good association between the mean air and soil temperature in all time scales studied, i.e., month, and year. For the period used (1967-1976) the differences between air and soil temperatures were between 0,2 and 6,6°C in the month soale, and were constant and equal to 32° in the annual scale. The soil temperature was, always greater than the air temperatuve in all scales studied. Daily values of the thermal diffusivity, damping depth, and extinction depth layer for such soil were, respectively, between 1.9x10-3 and 1.1x10-3 cm-2/s, 5,3 and 18.0 cm, and 22.0 and 72.0 cm for rainy periods, while for dry spells the daily values were between 2. 5x10-3 and 5.0x10-3 cm2, 7.5 and 12.5 cm, and 40 and 60 cm respectively.
