Abstract in English
The parameter soil-water diffusivity has traditionally been studied in relation to water content and time, in dynamic process involving water movement in the soil. Different methodologies to achieve this parameter have been used by several authors. In this work, the effect of different soil compactions was studied in relation to soil-water diffusivity. Diffusivities were analyzed relatively to the water contents and global densities of soil samples. By using gamma radiation attenuation technique, water content profiles were plotted and diffusivities calculated through BRUCE and KLUTE’s equation. The diffusivities were also determined by REICHARDT et alii’s equation using the slopes of the plots of the distances to the wetting front as a function of square root of time. The results suggested linear equations involving the dependence of the slope of the plot x versus √t with soil bulk density.
