Abstract in English
Studies on neutralization of soil acidity caused by exchangeable Al+3 in four soils and some effects brought about by liming. This dissertation deals with a work carried out in two places. In the first part, portions of 1000g of soil were well mixed with increasing amounts of CaCO3 p.a., put in to vases and incubated for 45 days. The moist the soils were kept al 40 - 50% of their field capacity. The following soils were tested: Sertãozinho and Monte Olimpo Serie from the county of Piracicaba and 2 and 18 units from Rio das Pedras county. The treatments were the following: (See Dissertation) After the incubation period the soils were dried air and ground. Further, the following measurements were made: pH; Al+3; H+; Ca+2; Mg+2 (exchangeable); soluble P (H2SO4 0,005N); fixation capacity of P. The percentage base saturation of the samples were determined also. In the second part of the work, 1000g of the same soils were incubated with CaCO3 p.a. more small, amounts of N, P, K, Mg, S salts, plus micronutrients. The incubation period was 13 days. Four soybean seeds (Glycine max. L., var. Hill) were put in to each vase for germination. Fifteen days after germination, seedlings were removed in order to Keep two seedlings growing in each vase. The shoats were harvested 40 days after germination. The calcium content was determined in the material.
