No presente trabalho pretende-se caracterizar três unidades de solos de ocorrência na República do Equador, identificando-se as principais características físicas, químicas e os minerais da fração argila. Pela análise e interpretação dos resultados obtidos estabeleceram-se as classes de fertilidade, representadas em gráficos, estabeleceram-se os respectivos balanços hídricos e determinaram-se os regimes de umidade e temperatura, o que permitiu a classificação destas unidades em: Unidade Tosagua - Ordem Mollisol, sub ordem Alboll, grande grupo Argialboll, sub grupo Xeric Argialboll; Unidade San Carlos - Ordem Mollisol, sub ordem Ústoll, grande grupo Argiustoll, sub grupo Údic Argiustoll e Unidade El Tablon - ordem Mollisol, sub ordem Ústoll, grande grupo Haplustoll e sub grupo Pachic Haplustoll.

The present work was carried out to study three soil profiles that occurring in Ecuador Republic. The physical, chemical and mineralogical characteristics of these soils were characterized. By the analysis and interpretation of the results were stablished the fertilized classes, the hydric balance and the soil moisture and temperature regimes. These soils were classificated as follow: Tosagua Unit - Order Mollisol, suborder Alboll, great group Argialboll and sub group Xeric Argialboll; San Carlos Unit - Order Mollisol, suborder Ústoll, great group Argiustoll and sub group Údic Argiustoll and El Tablon Unit - order Mollisol, suborders Ústoll, great group Haplustoll and sub group Pachic Haplustoll.
