Exploratory analysis in data of incidence with coal disease in sugar cane (Ustilago scitaminea Sydow)
Abstract in English
The exploratory data analysis is considered to be an informal and only visual method of the data conduct that also encloses the graphic residual analysis, helping in distinguishing the outliers. The objective of this work is to find out a method of classifying the sugar cane varieties, in order to liberate to the plantation. Trying to achieve the objective, using the variance analysis technics, more accurately, the multiple comparison method, it is necessary to verify those hypothesis to consider them effective. The exploratory analysis was introduced to verify the normality, non-additivity, and homogeneity assumptions, which are demanded by the variance analysis. As the assumptions were violated, it was tried to find out a transformation which satisfy the demanded conditions. Using the simply linear regression, where by the angular coefficient the transformation was determined, as (see disertation). The exploratory analysis technics were reapplied and the demanded conditions were satisfied. Finally, using the multiple comparison method for the means, four classes of resistance were classified.
