Abstract in English
In order to know exactly the possibility of the recovery of information over treatment effects existent in differences among block totals when the analysis of variance is performed in incomplete block designs (BIB), by YATES method proposed in 1939, the density function of the distribution of âwas obtained, where (See thesis). With the probability density at hand, probability of â belonging to [0, 1] interval was calculated and the interval was subdivided in 0.00 to 0.25; 0.25 to 0.50; 0.50 to 0.75 and from 0.75 to 1.00. All this was done only for the type III BIB case, although the p.d.f. found can be proved general, that is, for type I, II and III cases. The [0,1] interval was selected by the definition of a, although the estimates can fall outside the above interval. The p.d.f. of â found was, (See thesis)
