Neste trabalho aplicou-se regressão periódica a dados de produção de citros, em kg/parcela (2 plantas), das variedades Valência e Hamlin, em um período de nove anos, decompondo-se assim a variação total, em ondas senoidais. Tendo em vista as exigências do modelo matemático, foi aplicada a transformação √Y. As análises estatísticas, feitas com o auxílio de álgebra de matrizes, foram elaboradas em computador eletrônico, IBM-1130, do Departamento de Matemática e Estatística da ESALQ. Na análise de variância foi verificada a variação de cada componente harmônico dos contrastes lineares p̂k e q̂k. Foi feita então, a análise conjunta das amplitudes âk e verificou-se que as ondas de 2,25 anos e de 3,0 anos são as de maior importância, não só por serem significativas, na maioria das variedades de porta-enxerto estudadas, mas por serem as maiores responsáveis pela variação total. A onda de 4,5 anos contribuiu com maior parte para a variação total que a onda de 9 anos.

In this work the periodic regression is used with the citrus production data, in kg (2 plants plot) of the Valência and Hamlin variety, within a period of nine years, breaking up the total variation in senoidal waves. Bearing in mind the mathematical model demands, the Y transportation was applied. The statistic analysis, with the aid of algebric patterns, were carried out by the IBM-1130 electronic computers of the Statistic and Mathematic Department in ESALQ. In the variance analysis, each p̂ k and q̂ k linear contrast harmonic component variation is verified. The expanse â k ensemble analysis is then made, showing that the 2.25 year and 3 year have the greatest importance not only for being meaningful in most studied graft-bearing varieties, but because they are mostly responsible for the total variation. The 4.5 year wave contributes more for the total variation than the 9 year wave.
