Title in English
Inheritance of resistance in soybean to Diaporthe phaseo1orum f. sp. meridionalis
Abstract in English
Soybean stem canker. caused by Diaporthe phaseo1orum f. sp. meridionalis Morgan-Janes (D.p.m.). is becoming a serious disease of soybean crops in Brazil since it was first reported in 1989. Basic information about disease resistance inheritance are needed to obtain pathogen resistant cultivars. Two resistant parents (I AC-Foscarin-31 and Primavera). two susceptible parents (Paraná and Forrest), and six diallel crosses in the F7 generation, were tested to the disease reaction. This work was carried out under greenhouse conditions in order to identify soybean resistance inheritance to D.p.m.. The toothpick method was used to inoculate seedlings at V1 stage. Fifteen to 20 days after inoculation, the disease was evaluated by incidence and severity. In the crosses among contrastant parents for resistance reaction to pathogen (resistant vs. susceptible) it was observed a phenotipic ratio at 3:1 (resistant : susceptible plants). The results showed that the soybean resistance inheritance to D.p.m. is controlled by two dominants genes, I AC-Foscarin-31 and Primavera have two resistance genes to the pathogen (Rdm1Rdm1 and Rdm2Rdm2), Paraná and Forrest are homozygotic recessive for the two genes.
