Abstract in English
The brazilian floriculture grows each year that passes, new producing regions are appearing and the production improved, so much in quality and in amount. This work had as objective to evaluate a new method to production seedlings of flowers and ornamental plants, through seeds treated with paclobutrazol (plant growth regulator). The seedlings of marigold produced had been evaluated and compared with seedlings produced by conventional method. Were evaluated the heigh of the seedlings, beyond the weight of the fresh and dry matter of the aerial parts and roots, 21 days after sowing. That was the necessary time to the commercialization size. The seeds had been treated with 3 distinct dosages (0, 500 and 1000 mgL-1 ) and for 3 distinct periods of time (6, 12 and 24 hours). In the 7 and 14 days after sowing, an evaluation of the height was made. In 7º day, already it had a significant difference in the height, the same it was evidenced in the 14º and 21º day. The plant growth regulator, paclobutrazol, had significant effect in all of the aspects on the seedlings, influencing in the final height and in the fresh and dry matter, as much of the aerial parts and in the roots. Establishing that the best treatment for the obtaining seedlings in the ideal size, was when used the dosage of 500 mgL-1 for 6 hours. And the treatment that produced the minors seedlings was when used the dosage of 1000 mgL-1 for 24 hours, that provided a lot decreased for the commercialization
