Abstract in English
The present experiment, carried on in the experimental field of the Horticultural Department, was done in order to study the influence of plant populations density on growth and yield of broccoli c.v. Ramoso Santana. The densities evaluated were: 12048, 14705, 19607 and 27777 plants per hectare. It was used the Nelder's (1962) systematic design, modified, with randomized blocks, 4 replications and 4 plants per plot. The yield increased with the increment of plant population density, but, there was not influence on the size of the spears. The different densities evaluated didn't show any difference in the individual plant growth. It is possible to consider that the competition between plants was not so strong to influence markedly the plant development.
