Abstract in English
The present work was done in order to study the behavior of a group of varieties of bush snap beans and the influence of population density on yield, with the goal of promote this vegetable crop for in natura or processing. The varieties used were: Contender, Tendercrop, Gallatin 50, Early Gallatin, Harvester and Eagle. It was used the NELDER'S (1962) systematic designs, randomized block, 3 replications and 11 plants per plot. The best varieties were: Contender, Early Gallatin and Tendercrop. It was remarkable the earliness of Contender. As the density increased the number of pods per plant decreased progressively, but the yield of pods increased.
