Title in English
Macro and micronutrient concentrations in various plant parts and growth stage of mango (Mangifera indica L.)
Abstract in English
This research work had the aim to study the variation in the macro and micronutrient contents is different parts and growth cicles of mango (Mangifera indica L.). These parts were: bud leaves (bronze leaves), young leaves (light green leaves) and old leaves (dark green leaves); young panicles (with no-opened flowers), mature panicles (with opened flowers) and old panicles (with small fruits); green fruits unripened and ripened fruits, where were analysed the pell, pulp and seeds in each periods. The study was carried out in an experiment established in 1963 at Escola Superior de Agricultura "Luiz de Queiroz", University of São Paulo, Brazil, with "Oliveira Neto" mango grafted on "Espada" mango. Leaf samples were taken in six different periods; the panicles and fruits were picked up in the selected periods. The nutrients analysed were: nitrogenium, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, sulphur, boron, copper, ion, manganese and zinc. The results showed that. the concentrations of some nutrients in leaves were influence by the different periods and sample periods. Also, panicles in different periods and the different parts of the fruits, had different concentrations of some nutrients. It. was also possible to conclude, that the nutrition status of mango can be better evaluated in specific periods and with specific parts of the plant.
