Evaluation of the growth, vital and harvest cycles in the culture of the banana ´Prata-Anã´ (Musa spp.), aiming at the programming of harvest
Abstract in English
This study was carried in the Farm "Fazendas Reunida FLL Ltda.", located at Cristais Paulista City, São Paulo State, Brazil, at 20° 22' 42" of Latitude south and 47° 29' 36" of Longitude west, with 918 m of altitude. The soil was characterized as being Latossolo type, sandy texture. The cultivar of banana "Prata Anã" (Musa spp. genomic group AAB) was used in the experiment. The crop was planted in March of 1997, spaced by 3.5 m x 2.0 m. The experimental area was demarcated on February of 2002 with total area of 2.1 hectares. A complete random design was used with split plot with three repetitions. Treatments in the parcels were: treatment 1 - plant daughter developed without the presence of the mother plant, which was removed with his bunch after it floral emission; treatment 2 - daughter plant developed together with of the plant mother. The treatments in split plot were: the twelve months of the year, initiating in Februay/02 and finishing in January/03. The split plots consisted of five plants for each month. Each plant was selected when it presented the mother plant with the flower just emitted and one daughter plant in the sucker stage. The following characteristics were evaluated: mother plant circumference of the at the flowering stage; daughter plant circumference at the time of the selection (stadium of the sucker) and it was measured monthly growth until flowering; bunch mass of the mother plant and daughter plants; production cycles (harvest up to harvest) and vegetative (daughter plant sucker stadium up to harvest)The early cut of the mother plant bunch, in the flowering moment of the g and, subsequently, the cut of the same, affected the growth of the daughter plant girth, the which presented the girth medium upper the daughter plants the together the mother plant and their respective bunch, with 83.39 cm and 75.80 cm, respectively. The month of the year did not influence the rates of growth of the pseudostem. The mother plant girth correlated with girth of the respective daughter plant in 0.50 and 0.56, respectively between the daughter plants had grown without the mother plant and daughter plants had grown in the presence of the mother plant. The bunch mass was not correlated with the girth of his one pseudostem. The measure cycles (days) from flowering to flowering, harvest to harvest and of the plant selected in the stadium of the suckers up to the harvest were correlated (p<0.09) with the plant girth. In that case, the correlation was negative and inversely. The medium cycle of the daughter plants, measured between the stadiums of suckers up to its harvest, were affected by the presence or absence of the mother plant and by the month of election. In the absence of the mother plant the smaller cycles were for the selections carried out in Jun/02 and Jul/02 with 18.0 and 18.6 months, respectively. In the presence of the mother plant the smaller cycles were in Jul/02 and Aug/02 with 19|and 20 months, respectively. The bunch mass not was affected by the cut-off of the mother plant. The daughters plant had grown in the absence of the mother plant produced on average bunches with 20.6 kg against 18,2 kg of the daughters plant had grown in the presence of the mother. The knowledge of the development phases, monthly growth and characterization of size of the banana plant - through of the pseudostem measurement - for a specific climate condition, management and the variety practicable the harvest planning of the for interest season.
