O presente estudo, através de diferentes freqüências de colheita, visou a obtenção de informações sobre a produção de óleo bruto e mentol cristalizável. O experimento foi instalado no ano de 1990, num Latossolo Roxo Eutrófico, na área experimental da Fundação Faculdade de Agronomia “Luiz Meneghel”, no município de Bandeirantes, Estado do Paraná. Os tratamentos consistiram em oito freqüências de colheita: aos 60 dias, 70 dias, 80 dias, pleno florescimento, 90 dias, 100 dias, 110 dias e 120 dias. Utilizou-se o delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso, com três repetições. Avaliaram-se a altura das plantas da emergência à colheita, área foliar, número de caules, número de folhas da emergência à colheita, massa verde, matéria seca, produção de óleo bruto, teor de mentol e produção de mentol. Observou-se que as colheitas aos 60 dias, 70 dias e 90 dias foram as que produziram o maior volume de óleo e mentol cristalizável ao longo de um ano de colheitas. Os teores de mentol em todos os tratamentos foram semelhantes. Houve uma tendência de maior acamamento para os intervalos mais longos entre colheitas. A temperatura e a radiação solar exercem um efeito positivo no desenvolvimento e produção da menta. Observou-se que nos períodos em que a temperatura e a insolação foram menores (inverno) houve uma diminuição acentuada no crescimento e produção de óleo bruto e mentol.

Production of glass oil and crystallizer menthol on eight frequencies of mint (Mentha arvensis L.) harvest times
Abstract in English
This present search, by different frequencies of harvest, had the intention to obtain information about the production of gross oil and crystallizer menthol, on mint tillage. The trial was set in 1990, on a clayey textured soil typic eutrorthox, at experimental area of Faculdade de Agronomia “Luiz Meneghel” Foundation in Bandeirantes City, Paraná State. Treatments, on eight frequencies of harvest, were: at 60, 70, 80 days, on full flowering time, at 90, 100, 110 and 120 days. Used experimental design was randomized blocks, with three repetitions each. It were evaluated: plants height, from emergency till harvest; leaf area; number of stems; number of leaves, from emergency till harvest; green mass; dried mass; gross oil production; menthol amount and menthol production. It was observed that, harvest done at 60 days, 70 days, and 90 days showed better productions, in volume, for oil and crystallizer menthol at all year long of harvest. Menthol amounts, at all treatments, were similar. There was more tendence to layer when intervals were longer, among different harvest times. Temperature and sun radiation exercises a positive effect on development and production of mint. It was observed that, on less temperature and insolation (winter time) it was a great decrease on growth and production of gross oil and menthol.
