Abstract in English
The amount of rainfall after the application of herbicides and the time it takes to happen are factors, which together with the physicochemical characteristics of herbicides, influence the correct positioning of the products. Therefore, the objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of rainfall and the dry season on the effectiveness of control of Panicum maximum by herbicides applied in pre-emergence in sugarcane cultivation. The first chapter had nine greenhouse experiments covering three rain simulation periods (0, 10 and 30 DAA) and indaziflam, isoxaflutole and indaziflam + isoxaflutole herbicides. All experiments were conducted in a randomized complete block design, with four replicates and a 4 x 2 factorial scheme, with four rain slides (0, 10, 20 and 40 mm) and two quantities of sugar cane straw (0 and 10 t ha-1). On the other hand, the second chapter had six dose-response experiments in the greenhouse with indaziflam, isoxaflutole and indaziflam + isoxaflutole in two straw conditions (0 and 10 t ha-1). All experiments were conducted in a randomized complete block design with four replicates and a 6 x 6 factorial scheme, with six doses of each herbicide (0D, 1/4D, 1/2D, 1D, 2D and 4D, D being the commercial dose of each product) and six dry periods after application (0; 15; 30; 45; 60 and 90 DAA). After periods of drought, a rainfall of 20 mm was simulated. The straw was removed from all experiments 48 hours after the rain simulations, aiming at the non-physical interference in the emergence of the species. The control evaluations of the first chapter were up to 42 DASC and those of the second chapter, up to 35 DASC, and on the last day of evaluation was performed dry mass evaluation of the plants. It was noted that both indaziflam alone and in combination with isoxaflutole had the control efficacy influenced by the presence of straw as the drought period spread. While in the absence of straw there was no interference, providing effective control even after 60 days of drought. On the other hand, the isoxaflutole had influence of rainfall and straw only when the simulation occurred after the application (0 DAA), and in the other dry periods, the control provided was effective. Regarding the indaziflam + isoxaflutole mixture, the presence of straw on the soil, together with periods of drought greater than 30 days, had a negative effect on control efficacy. However, the association of these herbicides proved to be an excellent control tool for straw application in dry periods of less than 30 days. It was concluded that the herbicide indaziflam isolate should not be applied for control of Panicum maximum in the presence of straw when the drought period is longer than 30 days. Isoxaflutole can be used in the presence or absence of straw, regardless of the dry period. Already indaziflam + isoxaflutole can be recommended at times of transition from dry season to wet season, where the dry season is less than 30 days.
