Abstract in English
The experiment was conducted in the Research Laboratory on Nutrition of Aquatic Organisms - A Unit Aquaculture Center of UNESP, at Faculdade de integrated Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia, "Campus" of Botucatu. The aim of the experiment was to determine the adequade level of consumption of cottonseed meal as succedaneous protein for feeding fingerlings of carp (Cyprinus carpio, L.). The proper level of cottonseed meal consumption was determined by means of productive performance and anatomopathological analysis of fingerlings. The experimental design was completely randomized with six treatments and three replicates. The treatments were: A - (control), absence of cottonseed meal or seeds, B - 6.0% of flour seed and C, D, E e F, with respectively 6.0%, 12.0%, 18.0% e 24.0% of cottonseed meal, in substitution to the proteic fraction of the diet. The diets were formulated isoproteic (25.0% PB) and isoenergetic (2800 Kcal ED/Kg of diets). A uniform group of 54 fingerlings was studied. Theirinitial body-weight average was 5.31g and initial lenght average was 55.92mm. They were maintained in 18 aquariums of 45 liters each with continuous renovation of water (0.32 liter/second). The replacement of 24.0% of the proteic fraction with cottonseed meal resulted in higher in body weight gain, better feeding conversion, higher level of body protein and lower level of body fat. No anti-nutritional signal was observed. The utilization of flour seed resulted in hepatic macro and microscopic sublethal lesions.
