Os objetivos foram: determinação do meio de cultura adequado para a obtenção de gemas adventícias; indução de caulogênese somática; avaliação anátomo-histológica dos calos de explantes de gemas de Pinus caribaea Morelet var. hondurensis in vitro. Gemas axilares obtidas de terceira poda sucessiva de segunda enxertia seriada foram utilizadas como explantes e cultivados em meios de cultura de MURASHIGUE & SKOOG (1964) e EEUWENS (1976), complementados com as vitaminas de MOREL & WETMORE (1951), com modificações quali-quantitativas dos reguladores de crescimento. Conclui-se: a sequência de transferências 1/2 MS para MS + ANA + BA + vitaminas de Morel + 40g de sacarose para o meio de cultura de Eeuwens foi necessária e fundamental para a indução de caulogênese; a caulogênese para a variedade mostrou-se viável; a organogênese indireta apresentou alta capacidade de multiplicação de gemas adventíceas e de gemas axilares; a embriogênese somática indireta foi possível, uma vez obtidos calos com células embriônicas, agregados e embriões; calos de coloração clara ou branco gelatinoso e friáveis, são fortes indicadores de morfogênese; análise anátomo-histológica mostrou-se essencial na compreensão da morfogênese

Evaluation of the morphogenetic behavior of Pinus caribaea Morelet var. hondurensis Barr. & Golf. in vitro
Abstract in English
The objectives of this work were: a) determination of adequate tissue culture media for adventitious bud production; b) caulogenesis and somatic embryogenesis induction and c) anatomic-histologic evaluation from shoot explants of Pinus caribaea Morelet var. hondurensis Barr. & Golf. in vitro. Shoots collected from third successive hedging of second serial grafting trees were used as explants and cultivated in MURASHIGE & SKOOG (1962) and EEUWENS (1976) media, supplemented with MOREL & WETMORE (1951) vitamins. Quali quantitative modifications were made on the growth regulators rise. The analysis of the results allowed to draw the following conclusions: 1. the sequences of transfers; 1/2 MS to MS + ANA + BA + Morel vitamins + 40g/1 sucrose to Eeuwens was necessary and fundamental to induce caulogenesis, 2. the caulogenesis in Pinus caribaea Morelet var. hondurensis showed to be viable, 3. the indirect organogenese shows high capacity for adventitions bud and axilary bud production, 4. the indirect somatic embryogenesis was possible since embryogenic callus was produced, 5. light or white gelatinous and friable calli are strong indicators of morphogenesis, 6. the anatomic-histologic analysis showed to be essential by giving information on cell behavior
