SIMULAÇÃO
Title in English
Simulation of water extraction by roots
Abstract in English
A simulation of plant water potencial and soil and root average resistances, using a macroscopic model with an analogic extraction function, is improved. The model is applied for field conditions during a drying cicle . The knowledge of location and magnitude of the resistances to liquid flow is fundamental in the plant response description to water stress. It is suggested that the biggest resistance to the flow is in the roots. The soil resistance becomes important when its humidity is near to exhaustion. The present results show that some physical parameters may be effectively selected and controlled in agricultural practices. The modal permits the extension of these results to other conditions and may be then used as a prediction model. It may easily he incorporated to a more general model taking into account the water relations, photosynthesis, growth and yield of a crop.
