Abstract in Portuguese
Plantas do capim Panicum maximum (Jacq) cv.

Growth and concentration of macro and micronutrientes in Panicum maximum (Jacq) cv. ‘Makeueni’, in function of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in the soil
Abstract in English
Panicum maximum (Jacq) cv. ‘Makeueni’, was cultived in green house at Escola Superior de Agricultura “Luiz de Queiroz”, Piracicaba, SP, Brasil, with the aim to verify the effect of fertilization with several levels of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium on the growth and yield. The nutrients levels on plant tissues as function of the applicated fertilizer was also studied. The experimental delineation was a 222 x 6 factorial, with 4 replicates. Forty five days later the plants were harvested. The plants were separated in stems and leaves and nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium sulfur, boron, copper, iron, manganese and zinc was determined. The obtained results showed that, the stem and leaves dry matter yield were affected by nitrogen application and absence of potassium. The maximum level of phosphorus applied in the soil showed a linearly increase both in stem as leaves: - the macro and micronutrients concentrations were affected by application of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in the soil, acting in a general rule through interactions; the nitrogen application provocated a increase in the plant levels of nitrogen, magnesium, sulfur, manganese and zinc; - the phosphorus application increased the of phosphorus, calcium, manganese and sulfur in the plant tissue with dependence of the application of nitrogen and potassium; - the application of potassium increase the concentration of potassium, boron, copper and zinc; - the other effects verified were not cons i stents, increasing or decreasing the elements concentrations in a not conclusive way.
