Deslocamento do íon potássio em Latossolo Roxo

Title in English
Potassium displacement in a tropeptic haplorthox
Abstract in English
The objective of this work was to study the behaviour of potassium from several sources in miscible displacement experiments, under laboratory conditions. The soil samples used were from the 30cm superficial layer of a Tropeptic Haplorthox, located in the county of Rio Claro(SP), Brazil. Soil fractions that passed through 1mm sieve were packed into acrylic plastic cylinders 30cm long and inside diameter of 5.75cm. Distilled water and 0.01N CaSo4were used as displacing solution and 0.1KCl, 0.1KN03 e 0.1K2SO4 and 0.003N KCl as pulse displaced solution. Just after the displaced solution (pulse) has started to infiltrate the soil, effluent samples were collected along the time in order to obtain potassium and chloride breakthrough curves. A mathematical .model was used and fitted satisfactorilly the experimental results and from them the following could be concluded: (i) it is not adequate to use the same soil column to displace several pulses because this showed to interfer the soil void configuration (ii) the presence of SO2-4 showed to slow down the potassium movement.
