Com o objetivo de se estudar a sintomatologia de deficiência de macronutrientes e boro, instalou-se um experimento em condições de casa de vegetação, cultivando-se "cunha" (Clitoria ternatea L.) em solução nutritiva. A sintomatologia observada para as deficiência nutricionais foi idêntica a observada para a maioria das leguminosas forrageiras tropicais. Os níveis foliares para plantas não deficientes e deficientes foram, respectivamente: 3,51%- 1,59% (N); 0,96% - O, 18% (P); 3,42% - 1,58% (K); 0,50% (Ca); 0,89% - 0,3 8% (Mg); 0,13% - 0,09% (S); 73 ppm -16 ppm (B). Em outro experimento, cunhã foi cultivada em condições de campo em Latossolo Vermelho Escuro Orto, com o objetivo de estudar a marcha de absorção de macro e.micronutrientes em função da idade da planta. O experimento foi instalado na Escola Superior de Agricultura “Luiz de Queiroz”, em Piracicaba. O delineamento estatístico foi inteiramente casualizado com quatro repetições. Determinaram-se o crescimento, a concentração e acúmulo de nutrientes na planta em função da idade. A coleta das amostras para análise foi efetuada de 15 em 15 dias a partir de 41 dias após a semeadura. Após cada amostragem as plantas foram separadas em folhas, caules, flores e vagens. Em cada época e nas diferentes partes da planta determinou-se a quantidade de matéria seca e as concentrações de nitrogênio, fósforo, potássio, cálcio, enxofre, boro, cobre, ferro, manganês e zinco. Concluiu-se que: - C. ternatea L apresentou um acúmulo de matéria seca segundo um modelo de crescimento determinado para o período estudado; - assumindo o 86º dia apos a semeadura como sendo o período de corte para a cunhã, a concentração na matéria seca e acúmulo de macro e micronutrientes1 foi: 3,69% -321,65 mg (N) i 0,32% - 31,23 mg (P); 2,30% - 218,96 mg (K); 0,85% - 70,99 mg (Ca); 0,43% - 38,65 mg (Mg); 0,15% - 16,39 mg (S); 41 ppm - 390,03 ?g (B); 8 ppm - 80,74 ?g (Cu); 402 ppm - 3404 ?g (Fe); 94 ppm - 751,67 ?g (Mn); 45 ppm - 402,98 ?g (Zn).

The tropical legume butterfly pea is a very promising for Brazil specially in the northeast regions of the country. In order to obtain: - a clear picture of the macronutrients and boron deficiency symptoms; - levels of macronutrients and boron for normal and wheal thy plants; - dry matter production in field conditions for plants with 41 to 146 days old; - concentrations and extractions of macro and micronutrients. Two experiments were conducted. The first in a greenhouse where butterfly pea plants were cultivated in pots containing pure quartz and irrigated several times a day with special nutrients solutions manured as: complete, -N, -P,-K, -Ca, -Mg, -S and -B. It was observed that the visual sintomatology of the deficiencies were similar to the observed for other tropical legumes. The levels in the leaves of the elements in normal and deficient plants were: N% - 3,51- 1,59; P% - 0.96 - 0,18; K% - 3.42 - 1.58; ca% - 1.62 - 0.50; Mg% - 0.89 - 0.38; S% - 0.13 - 0.09; B ppm - 73.0 - 16.0. In the second experiment, a field trial was executed in a soil called Latossolo Vermelho Escuro (Orthox). Plants were sampled every 15 days when the plants were 41 days old. The plants were di vided into leaves, stems, flowers and pods. The material was dried at 759C and analyzed for the macro and micronutrient content. The experimental design wasa complete randornized experiment with four replications. It was concluded that the dry matter production is very intensive from the beginning to 131 days old plants. At 86 days the plant presentec1 the following concentrations of the elements in the leaves: N% - 3.96; P% - 0.32; K% - 2.30; Ca% - 0.85; Mg% 0.43; S% - 0.15; B ppm - 41.0. For the same age the plant presents the following amounts of the elements: N mg -- 322; P mg - 31; K mg - 219; Ca mg - 71; Mg mg - 39; S mg - 16; B ?g :- 390; Cu ?g - 80; Fe ?g - 3404; .Mn ?g - 752; Zn ?g - 4D3.
