Water availability analysis in Barra de São Francisco, Boa Esperança and São Mateus, Region North of the Espírito Santo State, Brazil
Abstract in English
It is the endeavor of this paper to set an average daily water balance hydric average model carried out with the climate data obtained at the DNAE - Brasília, for Barra de São Francisco (Latitude: 18°45’; Longitude: 40°53’; Altitude 191 m), Boa Esperança (Latitude 18°31’; Longitude: 40°19’; Altitude: 180 m) and São Mateus (Latitude: 18°58’; Longitude: 40°09’; Altitude: 80 m). It is estimated that the yearly water availability of these areas (hydric shortages) at 40, 60, 75 and 80% probability levels. Such shortages are as a rule the limits of the average productivity of these areas, rendered possible through studies of the distributions to determine the best sowing date in natural conditions, the hydric resource needs (m3/ha of the planted area) for irrigation, as well as the basic elements for the irrigation equipment dimentioning.
