Title in English
Water consumption determination for the corn crop (Zea mays L.) by the lysimetric method
Abstract in English
In one experiment, development in Piracicaba, SP, in the experiment area of the Rural Engineering Department of "Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz", ESALQ/USP, it was determined the maximum evapotranspiration for the corn crop (Zea mays L.) using one set of three constant water table level lysimeters comparing it with the reference evapotranspiration values (ETo) estimated by the class A tank melhods (EToA), Thornthwaite method (EToTh), solar radiation method (EToRs), Penman method (EToPn) and modified Penman method (EToPn*), aiming at the obtention of the crop coefficient (Kc). The obtained results for the water consumption were 533,76 mm, 528,20 mm and 529,45 mm during the whole vegetative corn cycle, with daily average blade of 4,08 mm. The constant water table level lysimeter seemed as an instrument rather reliable for daily lectures allowing the determination of the coefficients on the various crop development stages.
