Abstract in English
The objective of this work was to determine the optimum management irrigation strategy and potassium doses applied through drip fertigation in the yellow passion fruit plant. The experiment was realized between May/1999 and June/2000 at ESALQ/USP Experimental Field, in Piracicaba - São Paulo State, Brazil (Latitude 22°42’30”S, Longitude 47°38’00). Four irrigation levels and five potassium doses were applied by drip irrigation at the plant development and growth. The experiment was realized in a randomized blocks in plots subdivided in four repetitions. The treatments resulted from the combination among four irrigation levels and five potassium doses. The irrigation levels were L1 L2 L3and L4, which correspond to 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of the average water consume by passion fruit plant, determinated in four drainage lysimeters installed in the area. The potassium doses Ko, K1, K2, K3 and K4 which corresponded to 0.00, 0.225, 0.450, 0.675 and 0.900 kg of K20 plant-1 year-1, respectively. The fertigation was applied each seven days with a diaphragm injector pump. Tensiometers and solution extractors, were used to the irrigation control and to evaluate the soil nutrient concentration, respectively. The irrigation leveis and potassium doses influenced the soil concentration and soil spatial and t distribution. The larger irrigation levei the smaller values of electric conductivity in soil solution. However, it reduced the potassium concentration in the rooting zone, which affected the yield fiuits. The largest roots concentrations were in the first 0.40 m of the soil profile for ali the potassium doses. The leaves concentration of K+ were increased as function of potassium increments. The yield, were affected by irrigation levels, potassium doses and by the both interactions. The L3 (2,117 I plant-1 year-1) and potassium doses K3, showed that the best yield (45,454 kg ha-1). The increase of irrigation amount reduced the water use efficiency in the passion fruit plant. The ranger of optimum irrigation amount was between 1,212 and 1,3521 plant-1 year-1 for the potassium treatment K2 and 1176 to 1364 1 plant-1 year-1 for potassium dose K3.
