Title in English
Development of granulated formulation of Bacillus sphaericus
Abstract in English
The formulation was prepared using the impregnation of the inert with a suspension of spores and crystals of Bacillus sphaericus and the adjuvant. The MS6 isolate was the most virulent and productive in NBY culture media. The inert for the formulation was the com cob, selected based on its physical properties and the low production cost. There was a significant reduction in the viability of the spores when stored at high temperature, mainly when they were not formulated. The crystals were also altered by the high temperature, 50% reduction in the larvicidal activity of the broth. Under environmental conditions, the viability of the formulated material was higher; however, there was no reduction in the larvicidal activity for the broth and 60% of redution in the activity was observed in the formulated material after 12 months of storage. ln the artificial breeding sites the efficacy of the formulated product varied throughout the time reaching 95% of mortality after 18 days of the application. Under natural conditions, although the initial control was low (21 % of larval reduction after 24 hours of the application), 94% of larval reduction was obtained 15 days after the application.
