Apresenta-se uma revisão das espécies neotropicais do gênero Bostrychopsis Lesne, 1898 (Coleoptera, Bostrychidae, Bostrychini ), que compreende oito espécies, das quais cinco pertencem aos grupos IV e V (Lesne, 1898), respectivamente, B. unainata (Germar, 1824), B. eremita (Erichson, 1847), B. ganglbaueri Lesne, 1898, B. trimorpha Lesne, 1898, B. valida Lesne, 1898; B. Laminifer (Lesne, 1895) , B. freyi Vridag, 1959 e B. tabori Reichardt, 1962. B. uncinata ♀ frontalis Linell, 1898, B. uncinata ♀ gounellei Lesne, 1898 e B. uncinata ♀ orbignyi Lesne, 1898, são consideradas sinônimas de B. uncinata (Germar, 1824) e B. valida guyanica Lesne, 1937 sinônima de B. valida Lesne, 1898. Continuam desconhecidos os machos de B. freyi e as fêmeas de B. tabori; faz-se breve comentário sobre a possibilidade de constituírem única espécie. Machos de B. ganglbaueri também são desconhecidos. Problemas de natureza taxonômica referentes a B. unainata, e suas formas, são abordados; é apresentado quadro onde são ilustradas as três formas de machos variantes. Citam-se plantas-hospedeiras e amplia-se o conhecimento da distribuição geográfica de cada espécie.

Taxonomic revision of the neotropical species of genus Bostrychopsis Lesne, 1898 (Coleoptera, Bostrychidae).

Abstract in English

A taxonomic revision of the neotropical species of Bostrychopsis Lesne, 1898 (Coleoptera, Bostrychidae, Bostrychini) is presented. The genus includes eight species; five of them belong to groups IV and V (Lesne, 1898), respectively, B. uncinata (Germar, 1824), B. eremita (Erichson, 1847), B. ganglbaueri Lesne, 1898, B. trimorpha Lesne, 1898, B. valida Lesne, 1898; B. laminifer (Lesne, 1895), B. freyi Vridagh, 1959 and B. tabori Reichardt, 1962. New synonyms established: B. uncinata ♀ frontalis Lesne, 1898, B. uncinata ♀ orbignyi Lesne, 1898, B. uncinata ♀ orbignyi Lesne, 1898 = B. uncinata (Germar, 1824); B. valida guyanica Lesne, 1937 = B. valida Lesne, 1898. Males of B. freyi and females of B. tabori are unknown; probably they belong to the same species. Males of B. ganglbaueri are also unknown. B. uncinata and its forms are treated; forms of males are presented in an illustrated plate. Host-plants are mentioned and the known graphical distribution of each species is added.
