Faunistic analysis of insects collected by light-traps in Acre rubber crops
Abstract in English
This research have dealt with the survey and faunistic study of insects of the following orders: Blattodea, Coleoptera, Dermaptera, Hemiptera, Hymenoptera, Lepidoptera, Mantodera and Orthoptera, found in rubber crops and collected by light-traps, in the region of Rio Branco, State of Acre, Brazil. The insects were collected from January/84 to December/88. The following faunistic parameters were estudied: frequency, constancy, abundance, dominance, diversity, similarity and percentage of similarity, as well as the population fluctuation of the predominant genera or species. These parameters have been correlated with regional meteorological factors. The total of 114,324 individuals collected included 205 genera or species (162 identifiable), 32 of which were found to be very frequent, 97 frequent and 33 at small frequency. On the other hand, 157 of the genera or species studied have been considered as dominant and 5 as non dominant. As to the abundance parameter, 116 genera or species were classified as rare, 10 as disperse, 18 as common and 18 as very abundant. By other and of these, 129 genera or species were accidental, 25 accessory and 8 constant. The mean index of diversity calculated was 13.9. The highest similarity index observed occurred between 1984 and 1986, with a value of 10.4%, which has been confirmed by the percentage of similarity (64,17%) between those years. The predominant taxons were: Aphodius sp., Carineta sp.1, Carineta sp. 2, Cyclocephala sp. 1, Cyrtomenus mirabilis (Perty, 1836), Deois flavopicta (Stal., 1854), Dysdercus sp., Erinnyis ello (L., 1758) Josima leucopa (Walk., 1858), Maruca testulalis (Geyer, 1832), Metaxyonycha sp., Neocurtilla hexadactyla (Perty, 1832), Odontocheila nodicornis Dej., 1825, Paederus sp. 2, Scaptocoris sp., Selenophorus sp. and Tettrigia sp.. The study of the population fluctuation on those genera or species have indicated that about 78.6% of them have been found to be correlated whith one or more climatic factors, mainly rainfall, relative humidity, and maximum monthly temperatures.
