The zucchini (Cucurbita pepo L.) is one of the main vegetables produced in Brazil and in world scene. Its productivity and fruit quality are related to several factors that influence the system such as plant nutrition and the possibility of salinization of the medium. The objective of this work was to study development, photosynthetic, quality, production and nutritional characteristics of zucchini cultivated in a substrate in a greenhouse under N:K approach and levels of electrical conductivity of the nutrient solution. The experiment was carried out in a 8.2 dm3 potted environment using commercial AgroLink® Biogrow Fiber/Standard Compound substrate. The experimental design was randomized block with three replications in a 5x3 factorial scheme, with five levels of electrical conductivity of the nutrient solution (1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, and 5.0 dS m-1 ) and three N: K ratios (2:1; 1:1; and 1:2;), both in the nutrient solution. The seedlings were produced in a styrofoam seedling trays and transplanted at 20 days after sowing with one plant per pot. The row spacing of 1 m was adopted and the spacing between plants was 0.5 m. The variables were subjected to analysis of variance by the F test, and when there were significant differences between treatments, the polynomial regression was applied for the electrical conductivity of the nutrient solution and the Tukey test for the N:K ratio of the nutrient solution. All tests were performed at 5% probability level. For height of zucchini plants at 30 days after transplanting, the highest height was observed in the ratio of 2:1; at 45 and 60 days after transplantation at 1.0 dS m-1 electrical conductivity and 1:1 and 1:2 ratios provided the highest mean height. The N:K ratio of the 2:1 nutrient solution showed the highest photosynthetic activity of zucchini. The total soluble solids, titratable acidity and vitamin C in the fruits of the zucchini showed the highest values (4.8°Brix, 0.167g citric acid 100 mL-1 pulp and 25.4 mg 100 mL-1 pulp) in conductivity 5.0 dS m-1 power supply. The 2:1 nutrient solution presented the highest yield of fresh fruit mass of the zucchini with the lowest nutrient availability (1.0 dS m-1); while in 1:1 and 1:2 ratios, the highest yield was observed at the 2.9 dS m-1 level. Concentrations and accumulation of mineral macronutrients showed varying responses depending on the vegetative organ. The developmental, photosynthetic, quality, production and nutritional characteristics of the zucchini were influenced by the nutrient availability in the nutrient solution.
