Keywords in Portuguese
Capital social
Microcrédito
Microfinanças

Abstract in English
The programs of microfinance had presented substantial developments in there conception. Different arrangements had been created to substitute the physical collateral for a no-tacit capital known as social capital. However the form of its performance, as well as its impacts in the credit market is overcast for by the abstract concept of this term. This work aims to diminish the vacuum created between the term and its applicability. Through a field work carried out in the Jardim da Conquista (poor area of the Lest zone located of the city of São Paulo) the research shows that the groups are an efficient form of pressure so that the loans are honored. But the reasons for which this control is efficient is not accurately the described ones habitually in literature on the subject.
