Nas últimas décadas a adoção de Ti tornou-se uma das ferramentas mais utilizadas pelas empresas colaborando com a criação e execução de novas estratégias e com a manutenção de vantagens competitivas. Uma das características dessa ferramenta é aumentar a habilidade da empresa em explorar as interligações entre as suas atividades, tanto interna, quanto externamente. Nos últimos anos a adoção de TI, principalmente pelas grandes corporações industriais, ficou marcada pelo surgimento e expressivo crescimento dos sistemas integrados de gestão ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning). Esses sistemas têm se mostrado uma poderosa solução para a construção de arquitetura de TI, principalmente por sua habilidade de integração, e quando implementados mediante processos bem conduzidos, podem trazer inúmeros benefícios para as empresas. Este trabalho terá como foco a implantação de Sistemas Integrados de Gestão em Pequenas e Médias Empresas. No levantamento bibliográfico o trabalho apresenta as práticas de implantação de sistemas integrados de gestão sob a ótica de autores de Ciclo de Vida e de Walton (1993) e as dificuldades e benefícios verificados nesse processo encontrados na literatura sobre o assunto, principalmente sobre implantações em grandes empresas. No que diz respeito às pequenas e médias empresas serão levantadas características específicas relacionadas ao porte e ao processo de implantação de sistemas integrados de gestão nestas empresas. A pesquisa empírica examina o processo de implantação destes sistemas nas 4 empresas estudadas relacionando-o com o quadro referencial para estudo, tentando identificar aproximações ou distanciamentos entre eles. O relacionamento consiste principalmente na análise do processo de implantação e na comparação entre as dificuldades e benefícios encontrados nas pequenas e médias com o referencial adotado. Entre os resultados obtidos está o aprofundamento do processo de implantação de sistemas integrados de gestão pelas pequenas e médias empresas e principalmente a análise das dificuldades encontradas durante este processo, bem como dos benefícios conseguidos com a adoção do sistema como referencial para outros trabalhos e implantações nestas empresas.

In last decades the adoption of IT (Information Technology) has became one of the most used tool by companies which collaborates with the creation and work of new strategies and maintenance of competitive advantages. One of its characteristics is the improvement of company skills to explore connections between its activities, internal and external alike. In last years the adoption of IT, mainly by great industry enterprises, has been branded by the appearance and increase of United management systems - ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning). These systems have been a great solution to architecture building of IT, principally because of its integrating skill, and when it is established through well guided process, it can bring about lots of benefits to these companies. This task has focused the establishment of ERP systems in Small and Medium Business. In bibliographic inventory, this task presents the ERP systems performance by the Lifecycle and Walton (1993) authors view such as the difficulties and benefits found out in this process and revealed in the literature on this subject, mainly about establishment in big companies. Concerning small and medium companies specific characteristics will be aroused related to capacity and establishment of the ERP systems in these companies. The empiric survey evaluates the establishment process of these systems in 4 companies related to the reference table for study, trying to identify similarities or differenccs between them. This relationship mainly consists in the analysis of the establishment process and in the comparison between difficullies and benefits found out in small and medium companies to the adopted reference. Among the given results there is the profundity of the establishment process of the ERP Systems by small and medium companies and principally the analysis of difficulties discovered during this process, such as the benefits got by the adoption of this system like a reference to other tasks and establishment in these companies.
