O processo de envelhecimento acarreta alterações biológicas, fisiológica e psicológicas que impactam a maneira como o usuário percebe os estímulos do meio e responde a eles. O objeto de pesquisa é a averiguação dos aspectos que tornam o meio urbano adequado e atrativo para usuários idosos, mediante a avaliação ergonômica de uma área urbana. Objetiva-se avaliar como o espaço urbano pode ser configurado para ser adequado e atrativo aos idosos, de forma favorecer o envelhecimento ativo, o qual inclui, além de saúde, segurança, inclusão social e qualidade de vida. Os resultados obtidos apontam que os principais fatores de atratividade do meio urbano para idosos são: acessibilidade, qualidade de calçadas, baixa declividade longitudinal, áreas verdes de permanência de pequeno porte, fachadas ativas, comércio local, diversificado e de uso constante, arborização e ambiente com boas qualidades perceptivas. Por fim, são definidas diretrizes para um meio urbano favorável ao envelhecimento ativo.

The ageing process entails biological, physiological and psychological changes that impact how users receive and react to environmental stimuli. This research object is to investigate the aspects that make the urban environment suitable and attractive for elderly users, through the ergonomic evaluation of an urban area. The objective is to evaluate how the urban space can be configured to be suitable and attractive to elderlies, in order to favor active ageing, which includes, in addition to health, safety, social inclusion and life quality. The results reveal that urban environments main factors of attractiveness for elderlies are: accessibility, sidewalk quality, low longitudinal slope, green areas for permanence, active facades, local commerce, diversified and used constantly, afforestation and environment with good perceptual qualities. Finally, guidelines are defined for an urban environment favorable to active ageing.
