Abstract in English
The thesis organizes a theoretical anthology with 27 selected texts in the writings and architectural design production of Lucio Costa, Oscar Niemeyer, Vilanova Artigas and Lina Bo Bardi, elaborated between the years of 1930 to 1970. Through a critical review of such set of texts, we sought to understand a theoretical and methodological basis of the design practice in the modern paradigm, as well as to point out strategies for the teaching and the practice of the contemporary architectural design. This research identifies, analyzes, systematizes and critically reviews the texts of these four architects considering their relevance in pointing theoretical bases about design strategies in a new language in Brazilian architecture. The data collected are from bibliographic sources, with a preference for consulting the original sources, specially some historical architectural magazines. This sources were analyzed individually by a critical review and together by some graphic resources. Finally, the work points out some dynamic ways for the anthology be organized by the reader, providing filters for his own reading structure, through the identification of several subjects based on each text. The research also points out, in its Appendix, a large bibliography with the references of all the originals searched.
