Peter Eisenman (1932), arquiteto estadunidense, tem sua carreira marcada pela produção teórica e investigação projetual experimental ligada à arquitetura como linguagem e sua relação com as matrizes constitutivas da cultura arquitetônica e ocidental. A pesquisa procura identificar em sua formação intelectual os fatores preponderantes para suas motivações intelectuais e projetuais. Importante figura no debate arquitetônico Pós-Segunda Guerra, cujas apreensões motivaram desdobramentos na obra de inúmeros críticos e arquitetos relevantes em escala mundial, tem na fundamentação de seus argumentos forte presença da filosofia de Jacques Derrida, da arte de vanguarda do início do século XX e das neovanguardas dos anos 1950-1960, período em que sua produção começa a vir a público. Temas de interesse abordados neste trabalho são: arte moderna, arquitetura moderna, tardomodernismo, arte pop, minimalismo, desconstrutivismo, pós-modernismo e a ideia de suporte em arte e arquitetura.

Peter Eisenman (1932), an American architect, has his career marked by theoretical production and experimental investigation on architecture as a language and its relationship with the constitutive matrices of culture architectural and western culture. This work searches his intellectual quest to identify the preponderant factors for his intellectual and design approaches. An important figure in the debate after World War II, whose perceptions moved worldwide relevant critics and designers forward, he has his thoughts and projects influenced by Jacques Derrida's philosophy. He is also influenced by early 20th century avant-garde art and later the neo-avant-gardes of the 1950s-1960s, when his production began to come to the public. Themes of interest in this work are: modern art, modern architecture, late modernism, pop art, minimal art, deconstructivism, postmodernism and the idea of specific media in art and architecture.
