Este trabalho busca compreender os processos de despossessão e as práticas de sociabilidade em um território popular na metrópole de São Paulo: O território negro do Bixiga. Parte da inquietação sobre porque territórios negros enfrentam constantes diásporas devido a transformações e decisões urbanas, ao mesmo tempo em que corpos resistem e negociam seu espaço na cidade. Se concentra na análise do território do Bixiga ao longo de um espectro temporal que abrange a formação do Quilombo Urbano da Saracura no século XIX e a subsequente formação do bairro no século XX, a investigação se estende até o ano de 2023, marcado por discussões acerca da memória, devido à descoberta de achados arqueológicos nas obras da Linha 6 -Laranja do Metrô. Adotando uma perspectiva situada e engajada, este estudo visa compreender os movimentos de resistência diante das contínuas remoções devido às decisões urbanas, bem como a preservação da memória e identidade em um contexto que desafia as histórias e existências dessa comunidade, alcançado por meio da contribuição das narrativas, que servem como um fio condutor para a compreensão das dinâmicas e práticas cotidianas. Em outras palavras, a dissertação busca responder à pergunta de como comunidades negras se organizam, resistem e mantêm sua identidade e memória em meio a processos de despossessão. Dessa forma, o estudo dá voz às experiências e perspectivas da comunidade negra do Bixiga ao longo do tempo.

The goal of this study is to comprehend the procedures of dispossession and the sociability practices in a well-known district of São Paulo's metropolis, known as Bixiga. The focus is to understand why these Black neighborhoods encounter constant dislocation due to persistent urban transformations and policy decisions, while the inhabitants continue to resist and negotiate for their space in the city. The article analyzes the territory of Bixiga, tracing its development from the formation of the Urban Quilombo of Saracura in the 19th century to the neighborhood's subsequent formation in the 20th century. The investigation spans up to the year 2023, which is marked by discussions about memory following the discovery of archaeological artifacts during the construction of Line 6 - Orange of the São Paulo Metro. The study maintains an objective perspective throughout, utilizing clear and concise language, with an emphasis on logical structure and precision in word choice. Taking a situated and engaged perspective, this study seeks to comprehend the resistance movements occurring in response to constant removals resulting from urban decisions. Additionally, it aims to explore the preservation of memory and identity in a challenging context that impacts the histories and existences of this community. This exploration is carried out through the contribution of narratives, which serve as a guiding element for understanding the everyday dynamics and practices. The dissertation aims to explore how Black communities organize, resist, and preserve their identity and memory amidst dispossessions. By doing so, it amplifies the voices of the Black community in Bixiga over the years.
