Abstract in English
Objective: the objective of this work was to describe the application of the Core Set of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health for Children and Youth with Cerebral Palsy (CIFCJ-PC) in a group of patients aged 6 to 14 years, through a structured evaluation script, that operationalized the collection of functional data; besides demonstrating the results by means of graphs that facilitated their interpretation. Methods: na manual developed and constituted by structured questions and functional evaluation instruments, covering all categories of CIFCJ-PC for children and youth in the age group of 6 to 14 years was used as an evaluation guide for patients with cerebral palsy who attended the Hospital das Clínicas de Ribeirão Preto - USP. The data was entered into Excel databases. Simple descriptive analysis was performed through Minitab software and the results demonstrated in tables and graphs. Results: 30 individuals were evaluated; 17 (56.6%) males, 18 (60,0%) attended regular school in elementary school and half had clinical topographical presentation of the motor deficiency of cerebral palsy in diplegic form, evenly distributed in all grades of the Gross Motor Function Classification System. The mean evaluation time was 18 ± 4 minutes for each individual. The functionality problems most frequently encountered in this study were related to the ability to solve problems and deal with daily routines. Environmental factors related to architectural designs involving accessibility as well as the social attitudes of other people towards the individual were the most commonly reported barriers. Conclusion: Considering the ease of handling the evaluation manual proposed in this study and the reasonable average time used for its conclusion, we have demonstrated that CIFCJ-PC can be used in clinical practice. We suggest new studies with the manual developed in populations of different realities to evaluate the psychometric properties of the instrument
