Abstract in English
This geotechnical mapping study was made in the region of Sao Carlos, located in the central-estern portion of Sao Paulo State, Brazil, covering about 2.860 km2. It was based on a methodological proposed by ZUQUETTE (1987), for a 1:100.000 regional scale viewing the supply to improve subsidies for the planning and occupation of the regional environment. During the mapping works, all the pre-existing informations were studied and new informations from aerial photographs, field works and laboratory tests were added. These informations were analysed resulting in the basic maps working up, as well as the identification of units geotechnically homogeneous.
