Este trabalho apresenta uma comparação entre análises experimental e numérica de elementos de alvenaria estrutural, prismas e miniparedes, quando submetidos à compressão axial. São considerados blocos de concreto, cerâmicos e sílico-calcáríos, além de dois tipos de argamassa. O objetivo principal do estudo é prever o comportamento dos elementos, tanto a força de pico (máxima) quanto seu deslocamento, baseado exclusivamente no comportamento dos componentes, blocos e argamassa. Para tanto, é utilizado um modelo numérico de dano nâo-local especialmente desenvolvido para materiais frágeis. Os ensaios de compressão axial em componentes são realizados com um rigoroso controle de deslocamentos de forma a se obter a curva completa força - deslocamento desde o estágio inicial do carregamento até a completa ruptura do espécime. Com base nesses resultados são definidos todos os parâmetros necessários ao funcionamento do modelo de dano considerado. Posteriormente, esses parâmetros são utilizados nos modelos numéricos dos prismas e das miniparedes, de forma a se obter curvas teóricas força-deslocamento que são comparadas com as respectivas curvas experimentais em cada caso específico. Dessa forma, se procura validar o procedimento numérico utilizado, mostrando- se que as previsões de forças de pico e respectivos deslocamentos são suficientemente boas para que possam ser utilizados na definição tanto da resistência quanto dos parâmetros elásticos do material alvenaria

This work presents a comparíson between experimental and numerical analysís of stmctural masonry elements, prisms and mini-walls, subjected to axial compression loading. Concrete, ceramic and calcium silicate blocks and two types of mortar are considered. The main goal of the study is to predict the behavior of the elements, both the peak force (maximum) and its displacement, based exclusively on the behavior of the components, btocks and mortar. Therefore, a numérica! non-local damage model especially developed for brittle materiais is used. First, axial compression tests in components are carried out with a rígorous displacements control in order to obtain the complete force - displacement curve from the elastic-linear stage up to the complete failure of the specimen. Based on the obtained results ali necessary parameters to the damage model are assessed. Then, numerical models of prisms and mini-walls are buílt in arder to obtain theoretical force - dispiacement diagrams whích are compared with the experimental ones for each spedfic case. This way it is possible to validate the numérica] procedure used, showing that the predictions offailure forces and respective displacements are good enough só that they can be used to predict both the strength and the elastic parameters ofthe masonry.
