A evolução das técnicas de controle em sistemas distribuídos alcançou um nível onde os loops de comunicação analógica foram finalmente substituídos por protocolos de comunicação digital. Isto foi realizado através do desenvolvimento de uma nova tecnologia de comunicação de chão de fábrica conhecida como fieldbus. Entre os diferentes protocolos de fieldbus, está o Fieldbus Foundation. O desenvolvimento do protocolo Fieldbus Foundation dá-se, inclusive, com o desenvolvimento dos denominados Blocos Funcionais, estruturas que viabilizam a implementação de diferentes técnicas de controle ao sistema, entre elas técnicas de controle moderno. Este trabalho apresenta um Bloco Funcional para o protocolo Fieldbus Foundation, que realiza a estimação de estados de um sistema dinâmico SISO de terceira ordem. O bloco desenvolvido foi utilizado no controle de temperatura em um sistema térmico.

The evolution of the control techniques in distributed systems reached a level where analogical control loops technique were finally substituted by digital communication protocols. That was accomplish through the development of a new technology of factory floor communication well-known as fieldbus. Among the different fieldbus protocols, there is Fieldbus Foundation. Fieldbus Foundation evolution goes by the development of structures called Function Blocks that make the implementation of different control techniques possible, such as techniques of modern control. This work presents a Fieldbus Foundation Function Block that is a state estimator for a third order SISO dynamic system. The block is used in the temperature control of a termic system.
